Two builders, Ashton Woods and Trendmaker Homes will start to presale lot and floorplan in the brand new, gated community Lakes Edge soon (as early as July 2017). The community is currently being developed and roads are being put in as quick as possible. Model homes will be constructed in there in the coming months.
Lakes edge is part of the prestigious, national ranked Eanes Independent School District, and will only have 118 home sites with beautiful views, greenbelt. The community is near Lake Pointe off Ashley Worth Blvd close to the Hill Country Galleria, Lake Travis and Lake Austin.
When presale starts, builders will schedule appointments for those who are seriously interested and want to meet with a professional to put a deposit down on a lot. This will be done on a first-come first-served basis. If you are considering Lake Edge community, I recommend you go to both builder websites and enter your contact information to their VIP email lists for any future progress and update.

The property tax at Lakes Edge is very low, only 1.82%. This is a huge plus for any house, especially for houses priced above 600K. See here for the detail. By comparison, the nearby EISD community Senna Hill has a property tax above 2.3% as of July 2017.
Lakes Edge is gated community with only 118 homes, there will be not many community amenities. On the other side, the HOA fee could very well be attractive.
